The mission of The Wildlife Society is to "represent and serve the professional community of scientists, educators, technicians, planners, and others who work actively to study, manage, and conserve wildlife and its habitats worldwide".
The Nebraska Chapter of The Wildlife Society adheres to the mission of our parent chapter and strives to take this mission a step further by:
• Providing professional growth, development, and fellowship opportunities for current professionals;
• Engaging students in the field of wildlife management and providing educational opportunities for students;
• Promoting mentorship and interaction between professionals and students;
• Recognizing and rewarding exemplary achievements by Nebraska’s professionals and students;
• Facilitating communication and information sharing amongst members via electronic media and newsletters;
• Providing political advocacy and technical assistance based on sound scientific principles; and by
• Providing a unified voice for wildlife professionals on wildlife policy issues.
Welcome to the Nebraska Chapter’s website. The Nebraska Chapter is comprised of over 100 dedicated, passionate,
and knowledgeable professionals and students and has been representing Nebraska’s wildlife professionals for over
43 years. Nebraska also boasts 4 student chapters with over 60 members combined. I encourage you to explore our
website and while doing so consider joining our ranks as a member, if you are not a member currently. If you are a
member, I encourage you to consider ways to become a more active member in order to make our Chapter even more
valuable to Nebraska’s current and future wildlife professionals.
Please feel free to contact myself or any of our board members with ideas, comments, and suggestions. Our contact
information is accessible by clicking on the “2009 Officers” link on the left hand side of this web page. Thank you for
visiting the site and we look forward to hearing from you.
As issues arise in Nebraska, the Chapter frequently provides comments and letters regarding plans on both public and private lands which affect wildlife and wildlife habitat in the state. You can read these action items on our website. If you would like to suggest a conservation issue that needs our attention, please contact Chapter president Emily Munter at
