You are invited to join other wildlife professionals and students at The Wildlife Society 15th Annual Conference in Miami on November 8-12, 2008.
The conference is an excellent opportunity to learn and debate cutting-edge research, management practices, and policy issues. A variety of workshops will provide hands-on training in new management techniques. It’s also a great place to network among 1,500 wildlife biologists from across the U.S., Canada, the Caribbean, and worldwide. You’re sure to come away with ideas and inspiration for tackling the challenges in your daily work environment.
Social events like the welcome reception and farewell barbecue will offer delectable Florida foods and drinks. Students will enjoy the friendly competition of the student quiz bowl and the chance to mingle with other students and professionals at the student-professional mixer. The trade show gives you an opportunity to handle the latest technological gadgets and ask questions of knowledgeable sales people in a low key environment.
Miami is the gateway for exploring the Everglades, Florida Keys, Biscayne Bay, and other Caribbean destinations. In addition to beautiful beaches, the Miami area is known for unique habitats including sawgrass marshes, tropical hardwood hammocks, pine rocklands, mangrove swamps, and coral reefs. We’ve prepared a guide to visitor opportunities to get you started. An exciting schedule of field trips and self-guided outings are being developed to show you the way. Plan to spend an extra day or more in the field. In early November air temperatures will be a comfortable 67-80°F with low humidity, and ocean water temperature will be equally comfortable in the mid-70’s.
Program details and registration information will be available in June. In the meantime, visit our website often to get the latest updates.
See you in Miami!
