The Alaska Chapter was founded in 1971. It is a nonprofit organization of professional wildlife biologists dedicated to excellence in wildlife stewardship through science and education.
Our Chapter is one of the largest in the country. We have over 200 members in state and federal agencies, academic institutions, non-governmental conservation organizations, and private industry.
We actively promote the conservation of wildlife and their habitats through educational outreach and the production of technical reviews and position papers. We recently received recognition for our activities by being selected as The Wildlife Society’s 2007 Chapter of the Year.
