To submit nominations, provide any member of the Awards Committee with a statement of nomination and any relevant supporting information you have available.
The WCTWSWisconsin Award is our chapter’s highest honor and is awarded annually or when achievements warrant its presentation. Traditionally this award has recognized long term service or achievement in the wildlife profession by an individual or group. Nominees may be any member of the wildlife profession and its supporting disciplines, including members of governing bodies and public organizations. Recognition for achievements or service to the wildlife profession may have been through management, research, teaching, public relations or legislative direction.
Nominations should include the following:
Appropriate information describing major accomplishments, publications, membership or offices held in relevant organizations, previous awards or honors and any other supporting information to justify the nomination.
The name, address, phone number and e-mail address of the both the nominator and nominee.
Other references that may have additional information regarding the nominee.
The WCTWS Don Rusch Memorial Award will be presented annually to a nominee who has made an outstanding contribution to wildlife conservation and meets the following requirements: 1) A wildlife professional actively working in the field of management, research, or education in the State of Wisconsin. 2) A member in good standing of the Wisconsin Chapter of TWS. 3) An active participant or a strong supporter of the role of hunting in wildlife conservation.
Nominees will be evaluated on the merit of their efforts that affect the wildlife resources of the state of Wisconsin and the implications of this work on both a local and statewide level. Nominees will be judged on the significance of their contribution to wildlife conservation in either the short or long term perspective. The person selected for this award will be the type of individual who is recognized by their peers as an excellent representative of a working wildlife professional. The recipient of the Don Rusch Memorial Award will receive a framed certificate commemorating this honor and a suitable gift.

The WCTWS Student Award is given annually to honor students possessing scholarship, leadership, and prospect for accomplishment in the wildlife profession. The nomination for the WCTWS Student Award is open to any person that is a junior or senior year enrolled in a Wisconsin university or college during the academic school year, majoring in a wildlife related field of study. Nominees will be judged on the basis of grade point average, leadership qualities, future wildlife profession potential, and the recommendations received with the nomination.

Name, address, phone number, and e-mail address of both nominee and nominator.
Student’s current university, major field of study, wildlife advisor or major professor, cumulative GPA, class rank, participation in wildlife oriented organizations, and any wildlife work experience.
Supporting information describing why the student deserves the special recognition associated with this award.
