By taking action now, we can conserve our most important lands and waters for today and for future generations. By dedicating for conservation a portion of the revenue the state receives from oil and gas taxes, we can improve and sustain North Dakotans’ quality of life and wildlife resources.
Bill Bicknell, (USFWS, retired) won the prestigious North Dakota Award for 2012. Bill is a skilled negotiator, a skill he used to great advantage on behalf of the natural resources he loves.
The HAPET office (FWS) won a Special Recognition Award for outstanding contributions to waterfowl and migratory bird conservation
James Myhre (NDGFP), Erik Schmidt (NDGFP), Ed Meendering (USFWS), and John Lemieux (Kidder County) won the Charles V. Pulver Case of the Year Award for law enforcement.
Dave Dewald (NRCS, retired) won the North Dakota Widlife Habitat Award.
Undergraduate Student awards were won by Charlene Kohler (Dakota College in Bottineau), Palani Luger (Sitting Bull College), Brian Chepulis (Valley City State University), Sally Markegard (University of North Dakota, and Joshua Pierce (North Dakota State University).
Graduate Student awards were on by Dustin VanThuyne (University of North Dakota) and Paul Barnhart (North Dakota State University).
