The Montana Chapter of the Wildlife Society sponsors a winter conference each year. The conference provides a forum for invited speakers and member presentations. Topics focus on those issues of particular importance or interest to Montana wildlife professionals.

The 2013 Annual Conference will take place at the Grouse Mountain Lodge in Whitefish, MT during the week of February 25th through March 1st. We have the entire lodge (143 rooms) reserved for conference attendees (

). Additional rooms are reserved at the Rocky Mountain Lodge (http://www.rockymtnlodge.com), also in Whitefish, for overflow if necessary. Both locations are are offering rooms for $87.00 per night. Block room reservations will be available until January 25th. The block room code is Wildlife Society. For reservations please call 406-892-6722. For those folks considering traveling from the eastern part of the state by train, Grouse Mountain Lodge offers a free pickup/drop off at the Amtrak Train Station in Whitefish. Presentations on all aspects of wildlife conservation and management are welcome. Those presentations focusing on climate, politics, and social dynamics as they relate to wildlife are actively being sought. University students are encouraged to participate as are wildlife biologists who wish to report on ongoing or completed projects.
Oral presentations will be scheduled in 20 minute blocks, which include 3-5 minutes for questions. Student posters are to be set up Thursday morning. Awards will be presented for best student posters and presentations.
