1.) NEW UPDATES FOR MS TWS ANNUAL MEETING
Workshops, job panel discussion, Wildlife Biologist certification table, and more will be part of this year's annual meeting. For more information, check out the Events' page.
2.) CALL FOR NOMINATIONS
We are now accepting board member nominations for 2009-2010.
Positions: President-elect, 2 Board Member Positions, and Southeastern Section Representative.
Voting: Ballots will be available closer to the annual meeting in October.
3.) Call for NOMINATIONS FOR OUTSTANDING PUBLICATION AWARDS
The Mississippi Chapter of The Wildlife Society is seeking nominations for Outstanding Publication awards in the following categories: Peer-reviewed Journal Article, Technical Publication, Popular Article, Book, and Media Product (video, DVD, web-based tool, radio program, etc.).The Mississippi Chapter will recognize high-quality publications that represent a significant advance in wildlife biology with respect to scientific knowledge, application to management, or public awareness and involvement.
To be eligible for an award, at least one author must be a member of the Mississippi Chapter of TWS at the time of nomination and the publication must be published within the last 3 years (2007 – 2009). Publications may be nominated by non-members.Self nominations are acceptable.

1) We are now accepting submissions for the upcoming MSTWS newsletter to be put out in April. Please send any items you would like included. Examples - Agency updates, upcoming meetings, articles relating to MS wildlife conservation, any other pertinent items. All submissions should be forwarded to me no later than March 25th.
2) We are now accepting nominations for board members for the 09/10 year. Currently President-elect, 2 board member positions, and the Representative to the Southeastern Section are available. More information on these positions can be found under Bylaws. If you, or someone you know, is interested in the positions please let me know. Feel free to contact me with any additional questions about duties. All board members must be current members of the Mississippi Chapter of The Wildlife Society.
